Familiar Feathers

“There is nothing holier in this life of ours, than the first consciousness of love, – the first fluttering of its silken wings…” – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

It’s been awhile since I did art for fun, and I have to say that it feels awesome – and comfortably familiar.  My old friends were back, just before Easter, so I pulled out the camera and caught this one up in the Loquat Tree. If you notice his beak looks a little strange… he was actually enjoying a piece of the fruit when I took the picture.

Anyway, it was cloudy and late in the day when I shot the image, so I did a little work in Photoshop and came up with this illustration / stained glass window effect.

It seemed like a perfect way to say “Happy Spring!”
