The Clones

Life among clones would not be worth living, and a sane person will only rejoice that others have abilities that they do not share. That should be elementary.

I thought I’d take a break from the window series, and my story rewrites, to do something for no apparent reason. My son and I went to dinner the other night and I pulled out my iPhone to take some snaps. I was actually looking for windows… but there were so many people out, and cool backgrounds or props (some images to come at a later date) that I decided to do a little street photography. I absolutely love that genre, but I never do it myself so it’s not really my forte. Practice, practice, practice!

Anyway, I wanted to do something with this photograph because I managed to capture the young man with a movie theater in the background that appears deserted—as if no one else was around. But then he looked a bit sad, or lonely, so I decided to clone the fella and give him some identical companions.

If I could have three more of me,
How happy I would be.
We’d be our own best friends, and then,
I’d always have company!

    1. 🙂 my pleasure and hope your time with your son was nice
also, street photography (of people) is special to me because I think it celebrates humanity – the photos captured are so one of a kind and can never be duplicated again because that person (or people) will never be the same they were in that moment and neither will the setting.
and the empty and vastness of the setting you grabbed here was really cool – and your edit was nice but now I am so curious as yo what the original looks like

    2. Yes, and you bring up a good point. It’s not really street photography if I go in and alter all the scenes. I have a few others from that night and I’ll leave them unchanged (except maybe convert to street black and white). Then they have really captured and displayed a once in a lifetime moment. I love that thought of yours, thanks for sharing it. ❤️

    3. well it is still street photography to me – just edited and “treated with your artsy take” – and there is a place for both – the raw and as is – and then the fun way you use modern tech to prrovide art and maybe a story!!
