A Day Near Griffith Park
If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward. Martin Luther King Jr.
Here’s a black and white, sketchy pigeon. I’m really surprised how much he looks like a cartoon! I’ve been trying to think of a funny caption for him… but I just can’t put my finger on one. I decided to spend at least an hour per day walking around the city, to take in new scenery and photograph new […]
Joy is the holy fire that keeps our purpose warm and our intelligence aglow. Helen Keller This is actually a shop in Jerome, Arizona—an old 1800’s mining town that I visited. It was a wild place back in the day, but it’s now a tourist attraction; full of coffee shops, restaurants, and cool art galleries. This particular building was used as a brothel […]
Anyone can love a rose, but it takes a lot to love a leaf. It’s ordinary to love the beautiful, but it’s beautiful to love the ordinary The featured image is my grandson and his leaf. So cute! Anyway, I’ve had time to think about my rambling thoughts from last night, about my confinement, and I realized […]
So, don’t freak out… but tonight my mood is confined. I guess that’s a mood, no? Today was absolutely weird. This evening I felt kind of burned out on the photography. Second, I haven’t felt like writing because there is either too MUCH on my mind, or nothing at all! I did say I was going to relax, […]
A Grandson’s Kisses are Like Tattoos on Your Heart. This was a fun shot today. My grandson and I noticed the cute little flower dangling near the ground on our way to the donut shop. He’s a pretty cooperative subject if his face doesn’t have to be in the photo. This was the first time I tried a color […]
The quieter you become, the more you hear. My mood today is relaxed and I’m going to do my best to stay that way. Last night I came up with a way to address those recurring (and nagging) thoughts that I’ve been having. I’m going to write them as they pop up. Tonight… after I’ve enjoyed this relaxing day, I’ll sit […]
I have not yet begun to procrastinate. (I’ll do that tomorrow)
I wanted to test my skills at getting an image through mini-blinds, glass, and the screen. Luckily I was able to move the curtain, or it would have been impossible! Of course, my son had another word for my efforts. He called it spying! Oops.
Do not wish to be anything but what you are, and try to do that perfectly. St. Frances de Sales This just happened today while we were walking to the park (my five year old grandson). He’s funny. After looking, he had a funny look on his face, and wanted to know why it was so dark. […]
January 1st is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one!
The human hand is made complete by the addition of a baseball. Paul Dickson
Stepping outside of my comfort zone today, I took a shot at a stranger. I officially tiptoed into the realm of street photography. It was exciting!
Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are. Chinese Proverb I got a bit of a crow in the walnut tree next door. It’s not a pretty tree (if you ask me), so I did a little crazy stuff to it. I like his stance—he looks very brave. And for some reason […]
Just random things I’ve been doing; a couple more night photos and something else that I’ll just have to call “art.” Yesterday I captured some bird images and noticed that some of them had nice silhouettes, so I’ve been experimenting and hope to share that soon! Have a great weekend everyone!
